Solana Fefer was born in Argentina in 1971. In 1998, she, with her husband and her two young children, emigrated to the United States, where their third child was born. Solana is committed to the study of the world around her in all its complexity and beauty. Solana approaches her practice with love, humility, and a thirst for knowledge. Working mainly in oils and charcoal, Solana strives to capture the visual dialogue live in all her subjects Through the process of translating these conversations in various settings-different times of day, different angles, etc.-the image slowly takes shape on the canvas, reflecting her most profound thoughts and emotions. Solana graduated from the National School of Fine Arts ”Prilidiano Pueyrredón” in Buenos Aires and was a student of Argentine sculptor Aurelio Macchi. Her studio is located in Waltham, MA.
